Webinar on 'Doing business in China'

November 4:  09:00 - 10:30 CET

China has become the second-biggest pharmaceutical market in the world. The rapid rise of China’s healthcare industry has allowed it to begin the transition from being a pharmaceutical manufacturing base to a strategic R&D hub. Major reforms have been taken place in the pharmaceutical sector to stimulate innovation.

Dutch SME's that conduct preclinical research are sought out after by Chinese companies because of their strong and unique knowledge and expertise. These SME's are invited to find the right market opportunities along the Chinese pharmaceutical value chain.

In this first episode we will focus on Dutch companies active in the biopharmaceutical sector that have the ambition to learn more about the Chinese market. We will introduce the opportunities, challenges, and regulations of the Chinese biopharmaceutical market. We will brief you on the current legislation, set out tools and funding opportunities. Different experts will share their vision and experiences in China. Dutch companies will get the opportunity to ask all their questions related to this unique and dynamic market.

Podcast on biopharmaceutical research

The Netherlands Innovation Network explores the newest discoveries in biopharmaceutical sector to share this information with our network.  For our podcast Innovation Matters, we spoke to Professor Fu about the problem that a large number of patients do not respond well to commonly used drugs. As a recipient of the ERC Consolidator Grant, Dr Jingyuan Fu offers a solution to the problem by changing the bacteria that live in the guts of humans.  Professor Fu researches whether the effectiveness of medicines can be improved by making adjustments to the whole of micro-organisms in the gastrointestinal system (intestinal microbiome).
