On Monday 27 February a Sino-Dutch platform meeting in the field of offshore wind was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province in China. During the platform meeting, Dutch and Chinese policy makers, companies and experts shared their views on the development of offshore wind.
Opening speeches were given by the Dutch Ambassador Mr. Rudolf Bekink and the Deputy Director General of the National Energy Administration; Mr. Shi Lishan. Four different expert discussions were held focussing on the challenges and experiences gained in 1: the offshore wind park layout, 2: power transmission, 3: installment, construction and management, 4: wind turbine design.
On Dutch side the following offshore wind companies were present: MECAL, Damen Dredging Equipment, Ovento, Pontis Engineering, KEMA, ECN Wind Energy, IHC Hydrohammer, Van Oord, XEMC Darwind, Ecofys, SBM Offshore and BMT. On Tuesday 28 February, the Dutch company delegation paid a visit to the 150MW Jiangsu Rudong Intertidal Offshore Wind Park.
