On 24 November, vice president Prof. Yuan Wei of Renmin University of China (RUC) and VU University President René Smit signed a Memorandum of Understanding on research collaborations.
The agreement enhances joint research on Entrepreneurship, Climate Change, Religion & Society and European Studies. Both universities agreed to work on joint publications, joint seminars and double/joint PhDs. Deputy Ambassador Willem van Ee and Science Attaché David Pho attended the signing ceremony. Prior to the signing ceremony the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands received the VU delegation for an extensive briefing on China.
